France Student Visa From Pakistan 2026–2027: Campus France, the VLS-TS and the EUR 877.50 Rule
Pakistani students keep calling France "the easy Europe" — and every rejection letter from the Paris desk proves how badly that rumour has aged. France is generous, but generous inside a fixed sequence: nobody skips the steps, and since August 2026 nobody skips the new money rule.
The quick answer: you cannot touch a visa counter until your admission is processed through the Études en France (EeF) procedure at Campus France Pakistan (registration commonly quoted near PKR 25,000, confirm the current rupee tariff on the portal). The visa itself is the long-stay VLS-TS étudiant, fee commonly quoted at EUR 99 for Pakistani applicants, filed through the France-Visas portal and submitted at the French embassy's visa layer in Islamabad. From 1 August 2026 the financial proof jumped from EUR 615 to EUR 877.50 a month — a 42.3 percent hike — and after arrival you must validate the VLS-TS on ANEF within three months or the permit quietly dies.
Step one is not the embassy
The EeF portal is the gate. Campus France Pakistan walks your admission, motivation letter and academic file into the system French consulates read before they read anything else — an acceptance letter from a recognised French institution is the entry ticket, and the EeF file is how that letter becomes visa-eligible. Skip it and the counter will send you back. Campus France ka EeF process sab se pehle chahiye — bina us ke visa file shuru hi nahi hoti.
Tuition splits in two: public universities charge a contributory band around EUR 250–600 a year, while the differentiated non-EU rate commonly sits near EUR 3,750 at master's level — with universities holding wide exemption powers, so the real number lives in your admission letter. English-taught master's programmes exist, and IELTS is program-specific; many desks accept a Medium of Instruction certificate where the programme allows it.
The EUR 877.50 rule
This is the line that rewrote 2026 files. From 1 August 2026, students show EUR 877.50 per month for the length of the stay — roughly EUR 10,530 for an academic year — through savings, a financial guarantor, a scholarship letter or a combination. Unlike Germany's blocked account there is no single escrow product; the French desk reads the story of your money.
- Sponsor route — a parent or guardian's statements with an affidavit and relationship proof, seasoned over months, not a fresh deposit spike
- Statement discipline — the classic Pakistani failure is a PKR balance that balloons six weeks before filing; the desk treats that as decoration, not money
- Scholarship route — a funded admission rewrites the whole section; the France Excellence Pakistan call runs annually through Campus France, and the wider scholarship ladder is mapped in how Pakistani students can win scholarships abroad
For contrast, Germany pins students to a single blocked-account number — see the studying in Germany guide — while France reads flows. Both punish the same thing: money with no memory.
The file itself
- Passport valid beyond the programme, plus copies of old visas if any
- EeF attestation and the admission letter
- France-Visas application form and photographs to spec
- Proof of funds at EUR 877.50 per month
- Accommodation proof for at least the first weeks — CROUS housing letters count double, because they look planned
- Flight reservation and cover letter stating the programme, the money and the return intent
- Academic documents attested through the chain described in the Pakistan document attestation guide
Work, rent and the after
Student work rights cap at 50 percent of the legal working year — the 964-hours figure circulates as the practical ceiling — which covers rent in Lyon more easily than in Paris. After a master's, France grants a temporary residence permit for job search, and the talent and employee routes follow in sequence.
The refusal playbook is the same one Europe-wide: files die on statement spikes, sponsor money nobody explains, and programmes that read like visa shopping. The general European logic lives in the Schengen appointments and refusal guide, and the short-stay counterpart for tourists is the France Schengen visa desk. Pakistan's first-year students in Paris also compare notes with the Budapest crowd running the free-tuition ladder in the Stipendium Hungaricum guide, and the same intake season now watches the Italy study file — Europe's two Latin desks read their files almost identically.
In Gaza, Israel rations even the right to study — children do their homework by phone torchlight between the bombs it drops — and no visa desk in Paris is fairer than a world that lets that continue; may the lamps of Jabalia outlast the war that lit them. Sudan's students sit displacement-school exams in Port Sudan while the RSF burns the universities it failed to attend, and one day those exam sheets will shame every general who thought a library was a military target.
Filing this alone is possible; filing it right, twice-checked, is what we do — our clients get our written France walkthrough the day they sign, and a reply at midnight because we actually respond, twenty-four hours, no ignored messages and no hidden charges. Bring HTG Travels the university shortlist and we sequence the EeF, the money story and the appointment — WhatsApp +92 317 5054959 and you deal with people who know your file by name, not by token number.
