Urs Ziyarat From Pakistan: How the MoRA Ballot Actually Works — Ajmer's 815th Urs in Rajab 1448, the Delhi Urs Ballots, and the Honest File on Visiting the Shrines From Pakistan

    H

    By Huzi

    File #864 · 4 min read

The dargah at Ajmer fills for six days every Rajab. Qawwals sing through the night, the great degs are fired, and among the crowds are Pakistanis who applied through a ministry in Islamabad — many for years in a row. The Urs ziyarat from Pakistan runs on a system most families have never had explained: the MoRA ballot.

The quick answer: Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony (MoRA) runs the official ziyarat channel for the Urs of the great subcontinental saints — the 815th Urs of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA) at Ajmer Sharif falls in Rajab 1448, a month that opens around 11 December 2026 with the Urs traditionally observed 1–6 Rajab — mid-December 2026, moon sighting to confirm. The Urs of Hazrat Amir Khusro (RA) in Delhi runs 22 to 29 March 2027, and MoRA announced its ballot by press release on 23 October 2026. You apply through the ministry's published process, the ballot decides who goes, and no agent can sell you a place in it — the same trap the agent verification file dismantles for Umrah.

    The calendar MoRA actually publishes

    • MoRA publishes the Urs and ziyarat schedule on mora.gov.pk each year — the current cycle lists the Khusro (RA) Urs in Delhi for 22–29 March 2027 and ran the Nizamuddin Auliya (RA) Urs in October 2025
    • Rajab 1448 opens around 11 December 2026 by the Umm al-Qura arithmetic the Hijri calendar file maps — placing Ajmer's Urs days in mid-December 2026
    • Every date bends to moon sighting — the ministry announces confirmations as it did the Jamada al-Awwal 1448 moon in October 2026
    • Watch the same page for the ballot notices: the Khusro (RA) ballot press release of 23 October 2026 is the template — window, documents, and draw date, stated plainly

How the ballot works — step by step

    • The call: MoRA announces an Urs ballot with an application window — a valid passport, CNIC, and a simple form through the ministry's designated channel
    • The draw: applications go into a computerised ballot — the same fairness logic MoRA uses for Hajj balloting
    • The result: successful zaireen are published, and the ministry coordinates the group's travel formalities
    • The discipline: selected zaireen follow the group's dates and movement plan — the Urs ziyarat is a managed group journey; if you are not selected, you apply again — the ballot rewards patience, not connections

The route — the honest reality

    • There are no direct commercial flights between Pakistan and India, so zaireen travel through Gulf hubs — typically Dubai or Sharjah — with the Indian visa in hand before the first ticket is bought
    • The Indian visa for ziyarat is sought through the official visa process, supported by the ministry's documentation for ballot-selected zaireen — this is where an experienced operator's paperwork earns its fee, and a fake one destroys the trip
    • Book refundable tickets — ballot dates and moon sightings move; the cancellation and refund file is written for exactly this journey, and the insurance guide shows what a policy must declare

    The documents file

    • Passport valid well beyond the journey, CNIC, photographs, and the ballot selection letter — carried in original
    • Printed itinerary with every transit stop and hotel, matching the visa application exactly
    • Emergency contacts in Pakistan and India — on paper, in every bag

What the Urs actually is — and how to carry yourself

    • Urs means wedding — the union of a soul with its Lord; the death anniversary celebrated as the joyful homecoming, not a mourning
    • Ajmer Sharif is the shrine of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA), called Garib Nawaz, comforter of the poor — the qawwali tradition grew in his courtyard and in Delhi's, where Amir Khusro (RA) lies near his master Nizamuddin Auliya (RA)
    • Dress simply, give the beggars outside with dignity, and keep photographs discreet — and take the qawwali seriously: it is the sound the Urs exists inside

Urs ki ziyarat ke liye MoRA ka ballot system istemal karein — ministry ki website par schedule aur press releases nazar aate hain. Kisi agent se guaranteed slot na kharidein — jo cheez ballot mein milti hai wo koi bech nahi sakta. Dubai ya Sharjah ke zariye safar hota hai, is liye tikat refundable rakhein. Passport, CNIC aur ballot ka khat original sath rakhein. Aur dargah mein aadab se baithhein — qawwali sunna hi Urs ka asal maza hai.

Pakistanis wait on a ballot for the honour of visiting a saint's grave — and Gaza's mothers wait outside morgues for lists of the dead to learn which child is theirs. Sudan's families wait at borders and phone lines for news of the taken that rarely comes. Ya Allah, shorten every wait made long by cruelty, and reunite every family the powerful have torn apart.

We actually respond — a real person, twenty-four hours, no hidden charges — and our clients get the Urs file in writing: the ballot calendar, the routing, the documents, and the dates worth applying for. HTG Travels — WhatsApp +92 317 5054959.

Arbaeen 2027 From Pakistan: The Najaf-to-Karbala Walk — 80 Kilometres of Free Mawkibs, the MoRA Advisories Pakistani Families Keep Missing, and Planning the World's Largest Gathering

Every Safar, tens of millions of people walk the 80-kilometre road from Najaf to Karbala for Arbaeen — the fortieth day after Ashura — in what has become the largest annual gathering on earth, and every year Pakistani families ask the same question: kya hum bhi ja sakte hain? This is the full file. The date: Arbaeen 1449 falls on 20 Safar, expected around 24–25 July 2027, moon sighting to confirm. The walk itself — the Najaf–Karbala road, the 2–3 day rhythm most groups keep, and the mawkib system, the free service tents run by Iraqi families that feed, shelter, and patch the feet of every pilgrim who passes, accepting no money. The Pakistan angle that decides the whole trip: the Ministry of Religious Affairs advisories — the Al-Sheeb border crossing between Iraq and Iran closed for Pakistani zaireen as of the 30 October 2026 advisory, and the air travel advisory between Iran and Iraq that followed it — which route you to the direct Najaf or Baghdad air route through licensed operators rather than the Iran land corridor. Plus the documents checklist, the July heat plan, walking with women and elders, and what the walk of a man murdered for refusing tyranny teaches every one of us.

Umrah in Rajab 1448 (December 2026–January 2027): The Reward Myth, the Crowd Reality and the Dates Pakistani Families Should Actually Plan Around

Every year, as Rajab approaches, Pakistani WhatsApp groups fill with the same claim: Umrah in Rajab carries a special reward, so book now. This is the honest file for Rajab 1448, which begins on 10 December 2026 in the Umm al-Qura calendar: what Rajab actually is — one of the four sacred months named in the Quran and in the Prophet's own farewell sermon, alongside Dhul Qadah, Dhul Hijjah and Muharram — and what it is not — a season of special Umrah reward, because no authentic narration from the Prophet or his Companions attaches any extra reward to Rajab Umrah, and Aisha (RA) reported plainly that the Prophet never performed Umrah in Rajab at all. What IS real: the crowds around 27 Rajab, the Isra wal-Mi'raj date that lands near 5 January 2027 this cycle, the winter school holidays that stack on top of it, and the hotel and flight pricing that follows. The file separates the belief from the booking, the sunnah from the season, and closes with the gentle correction that keeps family peace — plus the planning checklist for the families who go anyway, and the Sha'ban and Ramadan windows that reward what Rajab cannot.

Syria from Pakistan (2026–2027): The Reopening File — evisa.sy, the Land Borders, Honest Safety Math and a Damascus Week Done Properly

For most of a generation, Syria sat closed on Pakistani travel lists. In 2026 it is open — carefully. This is the reopening file: the eVisa route at evisa.sy with a government fee around USD 50 and roughly 30-day stays, the documents the portal asks for, why flying in without your visa sorted first means the airline will not board you, the land borders where many nationalities get stamped on arrival, the hard rule that an Israeli stamp in your passport ends the trip before it starts, the flights that now reach Damascus and Aleppo from the Gulf, the US Level 4 and UK advisories that still name the whole country, insurance exclusions to read before buying, and what a first Damascus week honestly costs.

Ramadan Umrah 1448 (2027) From Pakistan: Last Ten Nights, I'tikaf Permits, and the Booking Calendar That Decides Everything

The complete Ramadan Umrah file for Pakistani families — Ramadan 1448 expected around 8 February 2027 with Eid near 9 March, why the season's visa issuance closes on 9 March and the last entry lands 23 March with departure by 7 April, how the first half of Ramadan is gentler than the last ten nights in every way that matters, the Nusuk i'tikaf registration that opens around the 7th of Ramadan for entry on the 20th with an 18-year minimum and quotas that fill in hours, the 30-day entry window that punishes early visas, suhoor and iftar logistics around taraweeh timings, and the honest booking calendar that starts in October 2026, not February 2027.

The Forty Prayers of Madinah (2026–2027): The Chalis Namaz File — the Hadith, the Honest Grading, the Eight-Day Arithmetic and How to Actually Catch Them

Every Pakistani family in Madinah is chasing the same number — chalis namaz, forty prayers in the Prophet's Mosque — and almost none of them know where the number comes from, what counts, or whether their travel status breaks it. The forty-prayers file for 2026–2027 settles all of it: the narration itself — whoever prays forty prayers in the Prophet's Mosque without missing one, an exemption from the Fire and salvation from punishment — with its honest grading, graded hasan by some scholars and weaker by others, so the practice rests on ihsan rather than guaranteed arithmetic. The counting rules: forty fard prayers with the congregation, five a day, eight days — the deliberate Madinah stay that turns a two-night stopover into a residency; whether the sunnahs count (they do not, on the strict count); the opening takbir discipline the stricter reading adds; and how qasr interacts — the traveller prays in full behind the resident imam and the count still holds. The Rawdah salam etiquette folded into the rhythm — the quiet salam at the Prophet's ﷺ grave, the lowered voice, the exit toward prayer, never the exits toward the shops. The thousand-fold multiplication the whole plan rides on — one prayer in this mosque equaling a thousand elsewhere — and the honest note that the reward belongs to Allah's generosity, not our calculators. The itinerary math, the hotel-side logistics, and what a family does when it cannot stay eight days.

Sadaqah in Makkah and Madinah (2026–2027): The Honest Giving File — Sealed Boxes, the Ehsan Platform, Street Fridges, the Beggar Rings That Farm Your Generosity, and Giving on Behalf of Parents Who Passed

Nearly every Pakistani pilgrim arrives with a second suitcase nobody at check-in weighed: the money set aside to give in the holy cities — sadaqah for a deceased mother, a thank-you promised before the flight, a fixed daily amount tucked into an envelope. This is the file that makes sure it reaches people instead of vanishing into rehearsed palms. The legitimate channels, named: the sealed metal donation boxes inside the Two Holy Mosques, collected by the mosque authorities with no middleman; Saudi Arabia's Ehsan platform, the official national channel for charitable work that routes donations to verified cases; the neighbourhood street fridges that many communities keep stocked for workers and the needy; and the direct, dignified giving of dates, water and meals to the pilgrims and workers you actually meet. Then the patterns that farm your generosity: the organised begging rings Saudi police periodically announce dismantling around the holy cities, the children sent to collect because travellers keep paying, the self-appointed 'agents' offering to distribute your charity for you, and the online appeals that cannot prove a single beneficiary. Plus the etiquette that makes it sadaqah at all — give quietly, give daily, give in the name of the parents who cannot make this journey anymore.
