Azerbaijan and Georgia from Pakistan 2026–2027: The Easiest Stamps and Two Very Different Trips

    By Huzi

When a Pakistani traveller wants the Europe feeling without the European queue, this desk sends them to the Caucasus.

Azerbaijan and Georgia sit next door to each other on the map — and poles apart on paperwork. Which is exactly why doing both in one season, or both in one trip, works so well.

The quick answer: Azerbaijan's ASAN e-visa is about the least painful document in international travel — online form, passport scan, modest fee, decision in a few working days. Georgia is visa-free if you hold a valid US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia or NZ visa — otherwise, the e-visa portal with a proper file.

    A ten-day twin-country loop runs on a mid-range Pakistani budget, best in May–June or September–October.

The file What it needs Good to know
Azerbaijan ASAN e-visa Online form, passport scan, modest fee Decision typically within a few working days; urgent same-day class when plans are late
Georgia on a strong visa Valid US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia or NZ visa Visa-free — other countries' vetting gets trusted
Georgia the long way E-visa portal: funds, accommodation, itinerary, return ticket Judged closely; approval very achievable with a coherent file
Border day, either country Printed hotel booking and return ticket The turn-away reason is paperwork, not the visa

Azerbaijan: the friendliest file on the map

Baku runs an e-visa through the government's ASAN portal, and for Pakistani passports it is refreshingly painless:

    • An online form
    • A passport scan
    • A modest fee
    • A decision typically within a few working days — with an urgent same-day class of service available when plans are late

No appointment queues, no interview, no six-month bank statement theatre.

Pro tip: What gets people turned away at the border is not the visa — it's arriving without a hotel booking or a return ticket to show. Have both printed.

Once inside, Baku delivers a skyline that photographs like Dubai at half the cost: the Flame Towers, the walled Old City, the boulevard along the Caspian, and day trips to mud volcanoes and fire temples that make the country's name make sense.

Georgia: easy for some, a file for the rest

Georgia's rule is the one people get wrong:

    • Visa-free if you hold a valid visa or residence permit from the US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia or New Zealand — the country effectively trusts other countries' vetting
    • Everyone else applies through the Georgian e-visa portal, where Pakistani files are judged more closely: funds, accommodation, itinerary, return ticket

Approval is very achievable with a coherent file — but this is not a "book first, apply later" destination. Do the paperwork first, then the flights.

Inside, Tbilisi is the payoff: sulphur baths under a fortress, food that quietly outclasses everything around it, and mountain trips to Kazbegi where the road itself is the attraction. Batumi adds the Black Sea in summer.

    Money math for 2026–2027

    The Caucasus wins on arithmetic:

    • Hotel nights, meals and transport in Baku or Tbilisi run well below Gulf-city prices and dramatically below Schengen ones
    • Flight routings — via the Gulf hubs, or increasingly direct in season — keep the ticket honest
    • A ten-day twin-country loop is genuinely doable on a mid-range Pakistani budget without dorm rooms or skipped meals, especially in the May–June and September–October shoulders

The one financial trap: leaving currency exchange to Baku or Tbilisi airport kiosks. Change in the cities, not at arrivals.

Pairing the two countries — which sounds like planning gymnastics — is the two-stamp itinerary HTG Travels builds most often in the shoulder months: Baku in, Tbilisi out, or the reverse.

One passport check before you fall in love

Both files turn on the same three documents — passport validity, a return ticket, and hotel names — but the routes differ enough that guessing wastes weeks.

Sit with someone who files both weekly: HTG Travels reads your passport in two minutes and tells you which Caucasus door opens fastest for you.
