Trending Smartphones & Gadgets in Pakistan (2025-2026)
Trends in Pakistan's gadget bazaars are less about hype than arithmetic: what the rupee, the dollar rate and the PTA allow. Here is what is genuinely moving in late 2025, and the reasons underneath each wave.
The value-flagship wave is the story of the year
The queues are at the mid-range counters. With the 5G spectrum auction expected in 2026, last cycle's flagship prices have softened, and the Chinese brands are shipping near-flagship specs for half the money: the OnePlus Nord 5 (~PKR 110,000) with its big silicon-carbon battery, the Infinix GT 30 Pro (~PKR 100,000) for gamers, the Poco X7 (~PKR 80,000) with IP68. The top end still moves — Galaxy S25 Ultra near PKR 400,000, iPhone 17 Pro Max near PKR 580,000 — but the persuading is done by resale value, not spec sheets.
Wearables went from novelty to uniform
The Apple Watch Series 11 (~PKR 89,000 GPS) and Galaxy Watch 8 (~PKR 65,000) lead the premium end, but the real volume sits with the Xiaomi Band 9 at ~PKR 6,500 — the student default. Same pattern in ears: AirPods 4 with ANC (~PKR 35,000) and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro (~PKR 39,000) at the top, while Realme Buds Air 6 Pro (~PKR 7,500) and OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro (~PKR 8,500) put noise cancellation in student pockets.
The security camera boom nobody writes about
The quietest big trend: every shop, garage and staircase is getting a camera. The TP-Link Tapo C200 (~PKR 6,500) and the outdoor C500 (~PKR 9,500) dominate because they record to SD cards with no subscription, while Hikvision's ColorVu range (~PKR 12,000–18,000) handles serious full-colour night surveillance.
The quieter trends
Matter 1.4 finally made smart home devices speak one language across Apple, Google and Alexa, and that single fix is what unblocked adoption — the Tapo P110 plug (~PKR 4,000) and L530E bulb (~PKR 3,000) are the gateway purchases, while the imported HomePod 2 and Echo Hub remain niche statements. Handheld gaming crossed over too: the Nintendo Switch OLED (~PKR 70,000 official) is the family pick, the Steam Deck OLED (~PKR 130,000) and ASUS ROG Ally X (~PKR 180,000) are enthusiast imports, and the Switch 2 hype already has waiting lists forming.
How to buy without becoming the cautionary tale
PriceOye, Telemart, Daraz and Homeshopping are the trustworthy counters; MyGadget.pk is the authorised Apple, Anker and Belkin reseller. Any phone's IMEI deserves a check at imei.pta.gov.pk before the cash leaves your pocket, because non-approved sets die after the grace period. Time the big windows — Eid, 14 August, 11.11, 12.12 — and remember that the dollar swings flagship prices by tens of thousands within a quarter. When the rate is kind, that is your moment.
Trends are cruel that way: a topic trends, the feed moves on, and the people living it cannot. Gaza has slid off many timelines this year; it has not slid off mine, and I hope not off yours. Keep the dua steady after the hashtag fades.
Half the gadget questions at our desk end the same way: "or should I just buy it in Dubai?" If that is the plan, make the first flight a calm one. We ticket Dubai and the Gulf for first-time flyers every week — the whole ritual explained, immigration card and baggage sorted before you board. HTG Travels will have you back home with the receipts and the warranty cards.
