SEO Trends in Pakistan 2025: Mastering Local, Voice, and Urdu Search
The Pakistani search market has quietly stopped rewarding the old playbook: an English-only site targeting the whole country as one market. Search here has become local, spoken, and increasingly Urdu-shaped. From where I sit in Sialkot, these are the shifts that actually matter this year.
Local is the whole game for most businesses
If you serve a city, your most important page might not be on your website at all — it is your Google Business Profile. Claim it, verify it, keep the name, address, and phone number identical everywhere on the web, upload real photos, and answer reviews like a human. Reviews that mention the city and the service in natural words carry particular weight. Build city pages only where you genuinely operate; thin doorway pages for every city in Punjab are exactly the shortcut Google punishes. And a link from Dawn or a respected local site moves Pakistani rankings more than dozens of anonymous foreign links — directories like Hamariweb and Local.pk still count as citations worth having.
Urdu and Roman Urdu: the open lane
Good Urdu content remains scarce relative to the audience, and Roman Urdu is how millions actually type and WhatsApp. A page answering "karyana store ke liye online marketing" faces a fraction of the competition of its English equivalent and converts better, because it meets the reader in their own words. Write the questions your customers say aloud, not the keywords a tool suggested.
Voice and video changed the query
People speak to assistants in mixed Urdu and English — long, conversational, question-shaped queries. That argues for headings written as real questions with direct answers beneath them. And YouTube is effectively the country's second search engine: Shorts with Urdu captions and honest descriptions now surface inside Google results for how-to queries.
Mobile is not a trend here, it is the market
Most Pakistani traffic arrives on mid-range phones over 4G, so speed is a trust signal: compress the images, cut the popups, and test your pages on a cheap device, not just your laptop. For health, finance, and legal topics, put real author names and credentials on the work — Pakistani readers and Google both reward the accountability.
A language is home, and anyone who writes in Urdu feels this in their chest. It is why the poets of Palestine, still publishing between blackouts, move me the way they do — words outlasting buildings — and why my dua stays with them.
We live these trends ourselves, honestly: most of our own clients message us in Roman Urdu, and we reply in kind. HTG Travels runs our licensed walk-in desk in Sialkot, open between Umrah seasons. Come by for visa files, Gulf tickets, or a Hunza plan — we speak the same search language your family does.
