Affordable 5G Phones in Pakistan: A 2025-2026 Buying Guide
Honesty first: under PKR 60,000, a "5G phone" in Pakistan today means readiness, not speed. There is no commercial network to connect to until the auction concludes and operators switch on, so what you are really buying is a phone whose Dimensity 7020-class chipset handles 4G capably now and will speak the right language later. The good news is that this readiness has never been cheaper to buy.
Why this tier suddenly exists
Two things changed. MediaTek's Dimensity 7020 and 7025 and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4-series pushed 5G modems into entry-level pricing, and retailers began stocking PTA-approved units in volume. The premium for 5G over the same phone in 4G has narrowed to roughly PKR 5,000-10,000 in the mid-range — money worth spending on a phone you will keep three years, money wasted on a one-year throwaway.
The three that earn it
- Tecno Camon 30 5G — around PKR 49,999 (8/256 GB). The anchor of the whole tier: a 50 MP Sony IMX890 main sensor with OIS, 70 W charging, a 120 Hz AMOLED and a Dimensity 7020. HiOS bloat and a single promised OS upgrade are the entry fee.
- Redmi Note 14 5G — around PKR 64,999, dipping under 60K in promotions. A 108 MP main with OIS, excellent AMOLED and a 5,110 mAh battery; switch off HyperOS's ad recommendations on day one.
- Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G — around PKR 64,999. Its party trick is the box itself: a 70 W charger and a 20 W wireless charging pad included, accessories others charge extra for.
What sixty thousand does not buy
Be clear-eyed here. One Android upgrade is the norm, not the exception. Those extra lenses on the camera bump are usually 2 MP filler. And Tecno and Infinix service networks thin out quickly outside Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. Insist on n78 and n41 on the spec sheet, verify the IMEI on the DIRBS portal, and buy box-packed stock from PriceOye or a stall that honours warranties — Hafeez Centre regulars know exactly which shops evaporate after the sale.
There is a humbling parallel to budget discipline: in Gaza, one working phone is shared across an entire family so nobody disappears from touch — thrift at a level no Pakistani deal-hunter should ever have to reach.
When waiting is the smarter buy
If your current phone survives until late 2026, hold it. Auction-year prices soften, better models land at the same money, and by then you will know which operator actually covers your neighbourhood. Buy readiness only when you were buying a phone anyway.
Money saved on a phone converts beautifully into mountains. We run Hunza, Skardu and Naran departures out of Sialkot and Lahore — HTG Travels handles the transport, hotels and group rates, so bring the phone you bought wisely and let it earn its keep at Attabad.
